Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT for insomnia
I offer a safe, non-judgmental and empathic environment to help a person better cope with a variety of problems (depressive state, feelings of guilt, anxiety, fears, shyness, stress...) that have either been present for a long time, or arise when one faces a challenging situation or life event, like a grief, some health problems, an exam, a moving, a divorce, some interpersonal difficulties, insomnia...
Specifically I rely on the person's own strengths to work on his/her thoughts, feelings/emotions and behavior (or non-behavior). I mainly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques: psycho-education, cognitive restructuring, mental imagery, Jacobson relaxation, mindfulness...
It is worth noting that insomnia is found throughout many of the above issues. Because it is in itself a condition that impacts seriously one's quality of life, I have taken a particular interest in treating insomnia.
Cognitive Behavioral treatment for insomnia is a well research supported treatment. It usually takes on average 7 sessions (and some ''homework'') to go back to a natural more satisfying sleep. Furthermore, treating insomnia helps to alleviate some other mental difficulties like negative mood for example.
Population: teenagers, adults, elderly
A session lasts one hour, and costs 60 euros. I consult on Thursday mornings from 8h30 AM to 2 PM
Distance therapy by phone or skype is available throughout the week, except on Thursdays.
